    Get PDF
In this paper, performance analysis of wireless communication over α−η−μ fading channels has been investigated. First, analysis has been carried out for the case when communication is subjected to the influence of co-channel interference. Closed-form expressions have been derived for the probability density function and cumulative distribution function of the received signal-to-interference ratio. Outage probability has been obtained for this case, in the function of various values of system parameters, and also for the case when selection diversity has been presented at the reception. Further, simultaneous multipath fading and shadowing occurrence has been analyzed, through deriving novel composite Gamma long-time faded α−η−μ fading distribution. First-order statistical parameters have been obtained in closed form, for this novel composite distribution, and capitalizing on them, standard performance measures have been efficiently evaluated, graphically presented and discussed in the function of system parameters

Performance of the Product of Three Nakagami-m Random Variables

    Get PDF
An output signal from a multi-section wireless relay communication system is equal to the product of the signal envelopes from individual sections. In this paper, a three-sections relay system is considered in the presence of Nakagami-m fading at each section. First, random variable (RV) is formed as the product of three Nakagami-m RVs. For such product, the moments are determined in the closed forms. The first moment is the mean of the signal; the second moment is the average power of the signal, and the third moment is skewness. Then, the Amount of Fading (AoF) is calculated. AoF is a measure of the severity effect of fading in a particular channel model. Besides, all system performance are shown graphically and the parameters influence has been analyzed and discussed

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF DUAL-BRANCH SELECTION DIVERSITY SYSTEM USING NOVEL MATHEMATICAL APPROACH

    Get PDF
In this paper, novel mathematical approach for evaluation of probability density function (PDF) of instantaneous signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) at the receiver output in interference-limited environment is proposed. Dual-branch selection combining (SC) receiver operating over correlated Weibull fading channels applying SIR algorithm is considered. Analytical expression for joint PDF of desired signal and interference at the receiver output is derived and used for evaluation of PDF of instantaneous SIR. The expression for PDF of SIR is used for system performance analysis via outage probability, average bit error probability (ABEP) and average output SIR as system performance measures. Numerical results are graphically presented showing the effects of fading severity, average SIR at the input and level of correlation on the diversity receiver performance. In addition, results obtained for the PDF of instantaneous SIR in this paper, are compared to the results when the PDF of instantaneous SIR is directly calculated

First and Second Order Characteristics of a Wireless Three-hop Relay Channel with the Presence of Rayleigh Fading, Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2020, nr 2

    Get PDF
In this paper, a wireless three-hop relay communication system operating in a Rayleigh multipath fading environment is analyzed. The output signal from such a system is a product of signal envelopes from all sections, meaning that it is actually a product of three random variables (RVs) with Rayleigh distribution. We considered here the first-order characteristics: probability density function (PDF), cumulative distribution function and outage probability (OP). Then, the moments and amount of fading (AoF) were derived in the closed forms. The second order characteristics we present include the following: level crossing rate (LCR) and average fade duration (AFD). A few graphs are given to show the impact of the specific parameters of the wireless three-hop relay syste

PERFORMANCE OF MACRO DIVERSITY WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM OPERATING IN WEIBUL MULTIPATH FADING ENVIRONMENT

In this paper, we consider wireless mobile radio communication system with macro diversity reception. Signal is subject to Weibull small scale fading and Gamma large scale fading resulting in system performance degradation. Receiver uses macro diversity selection combining (SC) technique in order to reduce the impact of long term fading effects, and two micro diversity SC branches are used to mitigate Weibull short term fading effects on system performance. Probability density function (PDF), and cumulative distribution function (CDF), as well as level crossing rate (LCR) and average fade duration (AFD) of the SC receiver output signal envelope are evaluated. The obtained expressions converge rapidly for all considered values of Weibull fading parameter and Gamma shadowing severity parameter. Mathematical results are studied in order to analyze the influence of Weibull fading parameter and Gamma shadowing severity parameter on statistical properties of the SC receiver output signal

Product of Three Random Variables and its Application in Relay Telecommunication Systems in the Presence of Multipath Fading, Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2019, nr 1

In this paper, the product of three random variables (RVs) will be considered. Distribution of the product of independent random variables is very important in many applied problems, including wireless relay telecommunication systems. A few of such products of three random variables are observed in this work: the level crossing rate (LCR) of the product of a Nakagami-m random variable, a Rician random variable and a Rayleigh random variable, and of the products of two Rician RVs and one Nakagami-m RV is calculated in closed forms and presented graphically. The LCR formula may be later used for derivation of average fade duration (AFD) of a wireless relay communication radio system with three sections, working in the multipath fading channel. The impact of fading parameters and multipath fading power on the LCR is analyzed based on the graphs presented

On the second order statistics of N-Hop FSO communications over N-gamma-gamma turbulence induced fading channels

The paper explores N-hop FSO communications assisted by amplify-and-forward relays (AFRs) over N-gamma-gamma (N-gg) turbulence induced (TI) fading channels. We model TI fading signal as the product of independent but not necessarily identically distributed (i.n.i.d) N number of gg random processes (RPs) in order to address N-hop AFR FSO communications in moderate to strong TI fading conditions. The closed form statistical measures such as: probability density function (PDF), cumulative distribution function (CDF), average level crossing rate (LCR) and average fade duration (AFD) approximated by general Laplace integration formula (LIF) and exponential LIF are derived. The CDF and AFD derived expressions are in terms of finite sums and valid only for an integer value of the parameter related to small-scale atmospheric cells in the first link of N-hop AFR FSO system. The numerical examples for moderate to strong TI fading conditions as well as for various number of hops for the proposed N-hop AFR FSO systems are presented and discussed. Moreover, LIF approximate numerical results are compared with numerical results evaluated from exact integral expressions for the observed system model parameters.Caslav Stefanovic would like to acknowledge CONEX-Plus project.
